Penang - The Betel Nut Tale

Before Penang, the Pearl of the Orient, was known to the world as a beautiful, exotic holiday destination, she was Pulau Pinang – a virgin paradise that got her name from the abundance of betel nut palms scattered across her soft, sandy beaches.

Literally translated, Pulau Pinang means the “Isle of the Betel Nut” in Malay – Malaysia's national language. Steeped in history, “Penang” was born when charismatic English captain Francis Light persuaded the Sultan of Kedah to cede Pulau Pinang to the British East India Company.

While soaking in the sun at one of the many beautiful beaches is a must, visitors must bring along their most comfortable walking shoes because there is a whole new world to be explored in the quaint nooks and crannies of George Town .

To insert your business information, click the "Login Form" button using your registered "Login ID" and"Password".

Click "Add Entry" button on the left side of the screen. An entry form will appear in a new window as shown below.

Fill in your your company details in the box provided. The item marked asterisk (*) are compulsory entry.

Describe briefly about your business and/or products. Provide business or product image of size 500 pixel x 150 pixel and thumbnail image (may be your business logo) of size 80 pixel by 80 pixel.

Fill in the 'Meta keywords" for search engine to find your business or products. For example, if your business is tuition service, then the meta keywords are: "tuition, spm, pmr, upsr, students etc."

Fill in the "Meta Description" that best describe on your business which will be used by the search engine. For example, if your business is in tuition, then the meta description will be: "Providing tuition service for for all subjects." You may also placed your company tagline(if you have) in the the meta description box. This will help the search engine to display your business or products.

Select your business category from the list provided. Choose 5 suitable categories that closely related to your business. Highlight and click button >>> to add. Highlight category in the selected box and click button <<< to remove any wrongly selected category.

Check the "Accept " box. Copy the Safety Code number into the the box provided and click th"Send" button. You may click the "Cancel" button to return back to "User Menu" and to re-enter business information again.

Once the business information has been send by clicking the "Send" button, you may exit by clicking the "Logout" button. You are required to click another "Logout" button to finish the input process.

Please note that your submission will be reviewed by the Administrator before being published and placed in the myDirectory.my business listing. The administrator reserves the right to amend or modify the submission in order to meet the standard format of listing or reject any duplication or deemed unsuitable.
